Offering companionship, activities, interest and, importantly, plenty of fun. Specialists in care for those with dementia related illnesses, we offer flexible packages including respite day care for the over 50s. 

Our facilities

Based in a modern bungalow our clients enjoy full access to our light and airy communal living/dining room, kitchen, private garden and separate quiet room. Fresh, clean and tidy, our centre is cleaned every day. Offering disabled facilities, we pride ourselves on maintaining the building and environment to a high standard for the enjoyment of everyone.

What no TV?

We don’t have a television. That’s because we’re all too busy baking, reading the papers, doing arts and crafts, playing board games, having a pamper session, gardening or taking part in a sing-a-long or quiz. Need an afternoon nap? That’s no problem either with our quiet room. We encourage all our clients to join in as much or as little as they wish, even if it’s just discussing the weather and the chances for York FC this season.

Meals

As part of our daily activities, our clients bake everyday. This could be biscuits, cakes, snacks and treats that we’ll all enjoy after lunch. Our lunches are nutritious and prepared in our on-site kitchen. We are able to cater for specialised diets and there are plenty of snacks and drinks available throughout the day.

We are happy to assist clients with eating if needed.

Our fees are transparent and fully inclusive
of all drinks, snacks, a two-course hot lunch, all activities and VAT.

Full day from 8.30am* – 4pm

Half day from 8.30am* – 1pm

*We open at 8.30am and clients are welcome to join us throughout the morning.

Outside

Walking out through our french windows on to the lawn and our clients can enjoy the use of our mature and sheltered courtyard garden that we share with Apple Tree Care Home next door. The garden  provides an ideal space to get some fresh air and relax with a wealth of sensory planting and places to sit.

Safety and Specialist Features

A pleasant temperature is maintained throughout the centre provided by central heating, along with the correct ventilation. To keep everyone safe, a full fire detection and alarm system is maintained, fully compliant with regulations. Our toilet facilities are all fitted to allow disabled access and all spaces are on ground level. This ensures that all our clients’ individual needs are catered for and further equipment may be provided if required to assist mobility.
